Electrical Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

Design Engineer

About You:

You are a self motivated mechanical engineer who can independently move projects along. You find beauty in seamless functionality.

Job Responsibilities:

- Provide technical guidance to internal teams for issues related to engineering feasibility, manufacturing, cost, sustainability, and material selection.

- Work with industrial designers to translate concept sketches and exploratory models into production components.

- Communicate ideas effectively through hand-sketching and study models.

- Strong understanding of thermodynamics

- Identify and engage with third party suppliers according to project needs.

- Work with in house and external prototyping specialists to design and develop high fidelity models, mechanical assemblies, and prototypes.

- Understanding and experience with development tools such as Arduino is a bonus.

- Ability to work independently and across multiple projects simultaneously.

- Familiarity with basic shop tools, including mills, lathes, 3D printers, and various power tools.

- Experience with designing injection/compression molded, die cast and/or stamped metal components for high volume production.

Job Responsibilities:

- Build and implement Puffco’s strategic sales plan that encompasses growth and expansion into new territories and channel partners.

- Proven track record building, motivating and leading a high-performance team.

- Oversee all functions of the sales lifecycle including lead generation, direct relationship management and development, negotiation of buying agreements and lead conversion, deal evaluations and approvals,

- Develop annual and quarterly revenue plans by region & channel (brick & mortar specialty shops, distributors, dispensaries, and online accounts), prepare monthly sales reports by product and channel to evaluate brand and product performance and develop annual and quarterly sales plans.

We are Puffco, the Brooklyn creative team behind the Puffco Pro and Puffco Plus vaporizers. We are looking for an experienced DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS to join our team immediately for a FULL-TIME position.

Function Overview

The Director of Operations candidate will have experience managing people leaders while demonstrating the ability to provide successful coaching and development to leaders and individual contributors. This role will be expected to inspire and foster an engaged work environment by modeling positive leadership behaviors and best practices. The ideal candidate will be a strong people leader with a demonstrated track record of navigating difficult situations, influencing others and negotiating successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

- Provide leadership and assume accountability for all operational activities, including the evaluation and hiring of related positions.

- Evaluate key operating metrics among locations to better understand root causes between top and bottom performers in both revenue and operating margins.

- Set standards for best-in-class performance in key areas and implement strategy to help underperforming offices get to this standard

- Responsible for ongoing maintenance, remodeling, and facilities environment Coordinate with business and clinical operations teams to monitor new offices with increased intensity for first 6 months

Director of Finance

We are Puffco, the Brooklyn creative team behind the Puffco Pro and Puffco Plus vaporizers. We are looking for an experienced DIRECTOR OF FINANCE to join our team immediately for a FULL-TIME position.

Function Overview

The Director of Finance will oversee and direct budgeting, audit, tax, accounting, grant management and outreach activities for the organization. Work closely with the Executive Director to appraise the organizations financial position and issue periodic financial and operating reports.

Responsibilities

- Plan, organize, staff, and direct the day-to-day operations of the department. Manage a staff of managers and individual contributors.

- Oversee the forecasting process and develop strategies to ensure alignment between operations and finance.

- Direct timely preparation of the annual plan, review plan proposals, and review necessary supporting documentation and justification.

- Identify and develop proposals for organizational change, including development of functions in other supportive departments.

- Supervise and motivate staff to support the financial, economic and market deliverables expected across Puffco.

- Understand the customer, industry and uses that information to provide input and recommendations designed to drive operating income.

Product Manager

Function Overview:

The Product Manager will use a combination of outstanding analytical skills, business judgment, and strategic thinking to innovate and create world-class experiences that will change our customers’ lives. As an enthusiastic and entrepreneurial product leader, you will innovate and execute on product initiatives that will delight to our consumers while delivering business value to the company.

Job Responsibilities:

- Responsible for the overall successful delivery of new projects. This includes ensuring that the project is delivered on time and budget; achieves the target margin; and meets consumer demands and technical requirements.

- Develop, maintain and manage to project plan, ensuring the right balance of scope, budget, timeline and risk is in place.

- Ensure project is on track, as well as focusing on quality of deliverables, project schedule, client satisfaction, financial performance, and risks.

- Organize and chair regular project team meetings, for e.g. Inception/scoping meetings, phase kick-off meetings, Steering team meetings, and daily stand ups etc. Ensure that all disciplines within the project team (PM, ME, EE, ID and Lead Developers) are working together, understand their goals, have a voice on plans, quality, progress and resolving any cross functional issues.

- Work with Delivery Manager to ensure sign off of key documentation and artefacts, for example: financial plans, invoice requests, change requests, project reporting, commercially sensitive emails, scope documents etc., before they are sent to the CEO or CFO.

Program Manager

Our premium product line has garnered widespread critical acclaim and numerous awards and recognition as the obvious industry benchmark.

We are looking for someone to join our Program Management team. As a Program Manager, you will own and ensure that all new products successfully launch, starting from product marketing ideation approval to commercial mass production. The right candidate will have a deep understanding of Engineering and Operations functions in order to define the product development and launch plan with functional leads, resolve cross-functional conflicts and drive rigorous coordination and execution. This role is highly collaborative with business teams, technical teams, senior leadership, and especially with third-party suppliers.

This role will be located in our forthcoming Los Angeles, CA office, and as such we are only considering local candidates at this time. The hands-on position would suit a self-motivated, results-oriented individual who is comfortable in a casual, but fast paced, environment.

Responsibilities

- Collaborate with 3rd party manufacturers to ensure products are manufactured to Puffco specifications.

- Supports product ideation phase through leading new technology assessments, supporting prototype testing, coordinating with other functions to ensure cohesive integration of all technologies, and identifying strategies to address any supply chain gaps.

- Coordinate with manufacturing, sub-contractors and suppliers for the procurement and specification of components for use in the development projects.

- Lead the creation and execution of product development and manufacturing implementation plans with input from stakeholders on the deliverables. Ensures timely completion in line with defined milestones.

- Facilitates cross-functional validation that final product design can meet initial product definition and ROI expectations. 

- Ensures priorities and trade-offs are clearly communicated and key stakeholders are engaged throughout the design cycle.

- Drive operations and engineering teams to achieve cost, quality, and reliability of externally sourced components and sub-assemblies to meet cost targets, quality standards and warranty periods.

- Ensure that all Engineering and Operations cross-functional and vendor deliverables meet industry-leading standards and are completed on time.

- Prepares Manufacturing partner and Supply Chain for the launch of new product.Coordinate with stakeholders to design and optimize the manufacturing and test processes for new products, ensuring product and manufacturing cost and production yield targets are achieved.

Minimum Requirements

- 3+ Years in Operations Manufacturing / NPI, Engineering Development role, or Program / Project Management experience.

- BS in Business Administration, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or similar discipline. 

- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to track and resolve issues across multiple programs simultaneously.

- Experience working with global teams and willing to participate in Global conference calls during non-standard working hours as needed.
