The more solid a solid is, the higher heat setting it should require. Liquids lead to clogs which lead to poor air flow which usually leads to gooey, messy situations.
Our battery is equipped with three temperature settings, all with varying voltages and colors. Our team has product tested for months, striving for the best settings for different consistencies. The battery has a 510 threading. If you are using another product with a Puffco product (like an essential oil cartridge), make sure it is the same threading. We suggest using our Puffco battery and atomizer together for best functionality. The details of the battery’s settings are listed below:
Green: Low setting 3.6v
Blue: Medium setting 3.9v
Red: High setting 4.2v
Your battery and charger will both display red lights when your pen is charging. If your pen is out of power or had been used modestly/heavily in between chargers the time frame for a full charge may be up to a few hours. My recommendation is to charge your pen overnight when it is not in use to ensure a full power supply for the following day. If your pen is not fully charged you will still be able to use it. The best way to charge your pen is with the charger that came in the case into a wall outlet. Charging on a laptop or in a car usually does not allow for an efficient charge like with a wall outlet.
The pen is self cleaning and does not require any tool or cleaner to refresh your chamber. We recommend you set the pen to the blue setting for cleaning. Hold it upside down and hold the puff button down, allowing any byproduct drip out. Repeat this process two times. Also, please be aware that using any tool to pack or clean the pen can damage or short the coil. There are a few ways to prolong the lifespan of your coil. The pen has a shutoff feature available by clicking the puff button 5 times. Locking the pen will prevent accidentally heating the coil when not in use.
An alcohol-based cleaner can be used outside of the chamber, battery, threading, and charger to remove any unwanted substance. To better clean the unit, soak a q-tip in an alcohol based solution and wipe the outside clean.
As an admittedly heavy Puffco user myself, I find my coils typically last me in the range of one to three months which is dependent on the given month and frequency of use. I'm always certain to keep a few spare coils stashed at work and home, to avoid the frustrating downtime associated with the wait for a replacement to arrive. We do not normally warranty used coils as once they are used differentiating between defect and damage is virtually impossible.
