How to Clean the Proxy
Keeping your device clean will improve the quality of your experience and the life of your device.
1. Charge your Puffco Proxy before using it. The Proxy takes roughly 1.5 hours (90 minutes) to charge.
2. Hold the button down for 3 seconds to turn on (unlock/lock) the device.
3. The Proxy features 4 unique heat settings: Blue is the lowest, White is the highest. Single click to toggle between settings.
4. Cold load your Proxy before heating up. Be careful not to overpack, to avoid leakage into the base.
5. Place the carb cap on top of the chamber and press down snug.
6. Double click to initiate heat up. Pulsing light indicates the device is heating up and will flash and vibrate 3 times when ready.
7. Hold device upright / vertical during use and inhale gently for maximum vapor production.
8. Double-click to boost, which increases heat and extends your session. Do not initiate heat up more than 4 times consecutively.
9. Be sure to clean your chamber and carb cap after each use. Wipe the chamber gently in a circular motion – avoid applying excessive force/pressure when cleaning and make sure contents are still warm while cleaning. This will help avoid potential issues that may reduce the life of the chamber.
10. Triple clicking will show you your remaining battery percentage.
11. Hold the button down for 3 seconds to lock the device in between uses.
Charge your Puffco Proxy using only the provided USB-C charger and cable. The Proxy takes roughly 1.5 hours (90 minutes) to charge. Triple clicking will show you your remaining battery percentage.
Your Puffco Proxy should last approximately 15 uses before needing a recharge. Using boost mode will impact battery life.
After heating up, double click to activate boost mode. This extends the time and increases the temperature of your hit. Do not initiate heat up more than 4 times consecutively.
Each setting isn’t better or less than, they are simply different and provide different effects. Experiment to find the perfect setting for you.
BLUE (LOW) (~505 F) - HIGH FLAVOR - The lowest heat setting expresses the nuances of your concentrates with high flavor and low vapor production.
GREEN (MED) (~520 F) – BALANCED - This setting produces both quality flavor and good vapor production, offering the best of both worlds.
RED (HIGH) (~545 F) – STRONG - This setting offers higher vapor production, while maintaining flavor quality.
WHITE (PEAK) (~565 F) – ADVANCED - This setting is intended for the user looking for maximum vapor production and the strongest effects.
Be sure that the device has cooled down before disassembling and cleaning. Do not handle the base, chamber or glass while hot.
1. For a light cleaning, use a cotton swab dipped in 90%+ Isopropyl Alcohol to remove any residue as needed. Gently cleaning the gold contact points between the chamber and base will also help avoid potential connection issues.
2. For a deep cleaning, submerge the chamber in 90%+ Isopropyl Alcohol for 20-30 minutes. Again, do not handle or clean the chamber while still hot.
3. To remove the tether, gently pull back to dislodge the jacket from the housing rib of the chamber. Pull back from the other ribs until the jacket comes off completely.
4. To reattach the tether, align one of the open slots on the underside with the chambers housing rib and push down until fully seated.
5. The tether/carb cap can also be soaked for a deep cleaning. Be mindful that Isopropyl Alcohol often causes silicone to expand but not to worry, it will shrink back to a perfect fit.
6. After soaking, allow chamber to fully dry before use. Isopropyl Alcohol is highly flammable!
7. Hold jacket firmly during insertion / removal
8. When reinserting, align the 3 prongs on the chamber with the base. Do not force the chamber, this can cause irreversible damage!
1. Remove glass and chamber.
2. Gently clean the gold contact points and air path of the base using a cotton swab dipped in Isopropyl Alcohol.
3. Do not flood or soak the base with IPA.
4. Keep the USB port dry and free of IPA, water or dust.
5. Make sure that the base is completely seated inside the glass/attachment when reinstalling for optimal sealing. Be sure to align the base so that the name “Puffco” is facing you when in use.
1. Carefully remove glass from base and submerge the glass in isopropyl alcohol.
2. Avoid using any other cleaning solutions or abrasive materials to clean the glass – soaking will be sufficient.
3. After soaking, rinse clean with water. Make sure it’s thoroughly rinsed prior to use.
4. Allow glass to fully dry before reattaching to base.
5. Be careful not to slide glass to avoid scratching – use our Proxy Travel pack for support
A good rule of thumb is to thoroughly clean the Proxy each time the battery fully depletes and needs to be recharged. The chamber itself should be soaked in ISO anytime you notice excess flooding or get a red/white flashing from the device.
The only cleaning solution recommended for Puffco products is 90%+ Isopropyl Alcohol. Avoid using any other cleaning solutions to maintain your Puffco.
The Proxy Bub, Travel Pack & Flower Bowl can all be soaked in 90%+ Isopropyl Alcohol. After soaking, rinse clean with water. Make sure all parts are thoroughly rinsed and dry prior to use with the Proxy base.
The Proxy painted glass coating has been designed with your complete safety in mind. The coating was tested and complies with the required limits of ISO 10993-5:2009 for In Vitro Cytotoxicity and ISO 10993-10:2010 for Irritation and Skin Sensitization. These are the FDA-recommended tests for a medical device with limited contact duration with intact skin or mucosal membranes (surface device).
This is simply an indication that your chamber is not attached. Please try removing the chamber from the base and reattaching. When reinserting, align the 3 prongs on the chamber with the base. Do not force the chamber, this can cause irreversible damage!
If issues persist, submit a warranty claim through puffco.com/warranty for further assistance.
The red-white-red-white flashing response from your Proxy is a sign of a chamber connection error. Please try first removing and cleaning the chamber from the device. Submerge the chamber in 90%+ Isopropyl Alcohol for 20 minutes. Never use water or any other cleaning solutions – 90% ISO only! Make sure that the chamber has thoroughly air dried before reattaching.
If issues persist, submit a warranty claim through puffco.com/warranty for further assistance.
If your Proxy is holding a solid red light for 5 continuous seconds, your device is overheating. Sometimes this can be from something as simple as the device being stored in a warm area such as your car/garage or from extended use. Simply leave the device alone and normal functionality will resume shortly!
If issues persist, submit a warranty claim through puffco.com/warranty for further assistance.
To get maximum vapor production from your Proxy, be sure to load your material along the walls of the 3D chamber bowl rather than the bottom surface. Lighter, longer inhales will also help!
